Hydro Gale is a passive skill of the Ninja that links Water magic into Wind magic. Enemies hit by the Ninja's Water spells are soaked in a watery mist that makes them more vulnerable to the same Ninja's Wind spells.
Overview
Hydro Gale is the Water-to-Wind link in the Ninja's elemental chain, and the only link that grants two benefits at once. When the Ninja hits an enemy with a Water skill, that enemy is marked for a short time. While the mark lasts, the Ninja's Wind magic deals more damage to it and, for skills aimed directly at it, casts faster. The skill deals no damage of its own.
Mechanics
Trigger: hitting an enemy with Spear of Ice or Ice Meteor marks that enemy for 5 seconds.
While the mark lasts, the Ninja who applied it gains against that enemy:
- Wind damage: +(5 × SkillLv)% to Wind Blade, Lightning Strike of Destruction and Kamaitachi.
- Wind cast time: −(5 × SkillLv)% for Wind Blade and Kamaitachi.
Rules of the mark:
- Only the Ninja who applied the mark receives the bonuses.
- An enemy can carry only one Hydro Gale mark at a time. Another Ninja can replace it only with an equal or higher Hydro Gale level.
- The duration is a fixed 5 seconds and does not scale with level. Hitting the enemy again with a Water skill renews it.
Leveling
| Level | Wind damage bonus | Wind cast-time reduction | Mark duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | +5% | −5% | 5 s |
| 2 | +10% | −10% | 5 s |
| 3 | +15% | −15% | 5 s |
| 4 | +20% | −20% | 5 s |
| 5 | +25% | −25% | 5 s |
Requirements
- Kamaitachi Lv3
- Spear of Ice Lv5
Notes
- This is a passive skill; it works automatically and is not cast directly.
- Lightning Strike of Destruction is cast on the ground rather than on an enemy, so it receives the damage bonus but not the cast-time reduction.
- Hidden Water deals no damage and does not apply the mark.
- It forms an elemental rotation together with Combustion Gale (Wind → Fire) and Thermal Haze (Fire → Water).
