Killing Wind
| Job | High Wizard |
|---|---|
| Type | Passive |
| Max level | 10 |
| Requires | Wind Ivy Lv 3 |
Killing Wind makes every gust the High Wizard summons strike harder the closer the target is to death.
Overview
Killing Wind is the capstone passive of the Tempest (Wind) branch, reached only after rebirth. There is no resource to manage and nothing to stack; the bonus is driven entirely by how wounded the target is. It rewards drawn-out fights and high-HP targets such as bosses, where the damage ramp lasts most of the encounter.
Mechanics
The skill adds bonus damage to all of the caster's Wind-element magic, scaling with the target's missing health.
Bonus formula: Bonus damage = 10 × SkillLv % × (target's missing HP %).
At full HP the target takes no bonus at all; as it loses health the bonus rises smoothly, reaching its maximum against a nearly dead target. At Level 10 that maximum is +100% extra Wind damage. Against other players the entire bonus is halved as a safeguard.
It applies to every Wind spell the caster casts, including Lightning Bolt, Thunder Storm, Jupitel Thunder, Lord of Vermilion and Wind Ivy.
Leveling
| Level | Max bonus vs monsters | Max bonus vs players |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | +10% | +5% |
| 3 | +30% | +15% |
| 5 | +50% | +25% |
| 7 | +70% | +35% |
| 10 | +100% | +50% |
Notes
- No effect against a full-HP target; the value comes from finishing wounded enemies.
- Because it reads missing HP, the bonus is largest exactly when a foe is about to fall.
