Reverberation places a resonating trap on the ground that detonates when an enemy steps onto it or when it expires, striking everything in a small area with physical damage.

Overview

Reverberation gives the Bard and Dancer a placed area-of-effect tool that deals melee physical damage. The trap sits on the ground for a short time and goes off on enemy contact or when its duration runs out, hitting a 5x5 area. It is well suited to controlling chokepoints and softening groups before they close in.

Mechanics

  • Placed on the ground within 9 cells.
  • Detonates when an enemy comes into contact with it or when it expires, dealing melee physical damage to all enemies in a 5x5 area.
  • Damage formula: ATK × (150 + 30 × SkillLv)%
  • Ignores 50% of the target's DEF and 50% of the target's Flee, so it lands reliably and hits hard against defensive targets.
  • The trap's element follows the arrow currently equipped.
  • Lasts 10 seconds if no enemy triggers it sooner.
  • A new trap cannot overlap an existing one.

Catalysts / Requirements

SP as listed by level, 1 Arrow, and a Bow, Musical Instrument, or Whip equipped.

Notes

  • Because the element is taken from the equipped arrow, swapping arrows lets the performer match the trap's element to the enemy's weakness.
  • The 50% DEF and 50% Flee reductions make Reverberation effective even against high-defense or high-evasion foes.
  • Since traps cannot overlap, spacing them out covers more ground than stacking them.
