Recount
Recount is a party combat meter that tracks damage, healing and damage taken, and displays the results in a window that updates live while you play.
Opening the window
Press Tab to show or hide the window, or type @recount.
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Show or hide the window | Tab (default key) |
| Show the window | @recount
|
The key is currently fixed to Tab. It will become configurable in a future update.
Recount is a party feature, so you need to be in a party for the window to do anything. The key only responds while you are in one; otherwise it passes through to the game as normal.
Starting a session
Recount does not record anything until somebody asks it to. Opening the window on its own costs nothing, so you can look without committing your party to anything.
Inside an instance there is nothing to do: the session starts and ends with the run.
Outside instances, the window carries its own controls at the bottom.
| Button | What it does | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Begins recording for the whole party. Numbers appear with the first hit. | Anyone, while no session is running |
| Pause / Resume | Stops or restarts recording without discarding anything already recorded. | Party leader |
| Reset | Clears everything recorded and starts a fresh session. | Party leader |
Every button is always visible. When one is unavailable it appears greyed out, and hovering it explains why.
Only one session runs per party, and everyone in the party sees the same numbers. Start is open to anyone because it refuses to run while a session already exists, so it can never wipe someone else's data. The three controls that can discard data belong to the party leader.
Current and Overall
The window keeps two separate sets of figures at once, and you switch between them with the Current / Overall selector at the top left.
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| Current | The fight you are in right now. |
| Overall | Everything since the session started. |
Current resets itself. After roughly a minute without any combat in the party, the current fight is closed and the next hit begins a new one. Travelling between packs of monsters is far too short to trigger this, so a farming run stays in one piece; stopping to sell or repair starts a fresh one.
Nothing is ever lost when this happens, because Overall keeps the whole session regardless. That is also why the boundary does not need to be perfect.
When the current fight is empty the window stays exactly as it is and the table reads Waiting for combat. That is not the meter switching off, it simply means this fight has not started yet.
Reading the table
Four tabs across the top select what is being measured.
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Damage Done | Damage dealt by each party member. |
| Damage Taken | Damage received by each party member. |
| Healing Done | Healing output per member. |
| Healing Taken | Healing received per member. |
In a party, the list on the left ranks members and shows each one's share. Select a member to see their breakdown; the top three are tinted gold, silver and bronze.
The table itself lists that member's skills, one row each:
- Skill and its damage type
- Amount and its share of the member's total
- Hits and Crit%
- Min, Avg and Max per hit
Click any column header to sort by it; click it again to reverse the order. Click a skill row to open its breakdown by target, showing how the skill's output was divided among the monsters it hit, plus that skill's hit count, critical rate and per-hit range. The band along the top carries the session total and a per-second average, and the footer adds total hits, criticals, overheal, deaths and monster kills.
Columns widen on their own to fit the numbers they hold, so long sessions with large totals stay readable without adjusting anything.
The window can be dragged by its title bar and resized from the bottom right corner. Press Escape to close it, or to step back out of a skill breakdown to the skill list.
Where it works
Recount is disabled on PvP, GvG, WoE and Battleground maps. It neither records nor displays there, including data gathered earlier somewhere else. Walking onto one of these maps with the window open clears it, and the window explains that Recount is unavailable in that location. Leaving your party has the same effect.
MvP rooms are not treated as versus maps, so Recount works normally in them.
If you leave the window open and go idle for a few minutes, updates stop until you start playing again. Nothing is lost, and it resumes on its own.
Notes
- Members who join a running session start from zero in Current and keep whatever they had in Overall.
- Someone who leaves the party disappears from Current but stays in Overall, which is the record of who took part.
- The number of skills and targets shown per member is capped, so only the most significant entries are listed.
