Fire Pillar plants a hidden Fire trap that, when an enemy steps onto it, erupts into a column of flame that strikes several times and briefly halts the victim.
Overview
Fire Pillar is the ground-trap offensive skill of the Wizard's Fire toolkit. It is laid in advance on a chosen cell and only activates when an enemy walks over or beside it, which makes it useful for guarding chokepoints and for zoning. Because its damage ignores the target's magic defense, it stays effective even against well-armoured enemies.
Mechanics
The pillar is placed on the targeted cell and lies dormant for up to 30 seconds. When an enemy enters the 5x5 area around it the pillar ignites and erupts, and it can erupt again roughly every two seconds while it lasts.
Each eruption strikes (SkillLv + 2) times, and every hit deals the same amount.
Damage formula (per hit): Damage = 25 + MATK ÷ 3.
The damage ignores the target's magic defense. Because the hit count rises with skill level, the total damage of one eruption grows steadily even though each individual hit stays the same size.
Enemies caught by an eruption are held in place for a short moment, from 0.6 seconds at level 1 up to 2.4 seconds at level 10.
Up to 5 pillars can be active at once. A pillar cannot be placed on a cell that is already covered by another ground skill, and it does not work on cells protected by Land Protector.
Leveling
| Level | Damage per hit | Hits | Hold (sec) | Cast (sec) | SP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 25 + MATK ÷ 3 | 3 | 0.6 | 2.4 | 15 |
| 3 | 25 + MATK ÷ 3 | 5 | 1.0 | 2.0 | 25 |
| 5 | 25 + MATK ÷ 3 | 7 | 1.4 | 1.6 | 35 |
| 7 | 25 + MATK ÷ 3 | 9 | 1.8 | 1.2 | 45 |
| 10 | 25 + MATK ÷ 3 | 12 | 2.4 | 0.6 | 60 |
Notes
- The damage ignores enemy magic defense.
- It behaves as a trap, so it must be triggered by an enemy rather than aimed directly at one.
- Up to 5 pillars can be kept on the field at the same time.
- This skill can be copied by classes with Plagiarism or Reproduce.
