Drain Life strikes a single enemy with Shadow magic and restores a portion of the damage dealt as the caster's health.
Overview
Drain Life is the single-target finisher of the Wizard's Shadow branch, learned after Dark Strike. It blends offense and sustain, converting part of the damage it deals into healing for the caster, which keeps a Wizard topped up while soloing. It hits noticeably harder against cursed enemies, so it pairs well with any source of Curse.
Mechanics
The spell deals Shadow-element magic damage to one target and then heals the caster for a share of the damage inflicted.
Damage: Damage = 100 + 50 × SkillLv (% of MATK).
Against a target suffering from Curse the damage is doubled: Damage = 200 + 100 × SkillLv (% of MATK).
Healing: the caster recovers 50 % of the damage actually dealt as health.
Damage dealt to skill units such as Ice Wall returns no healing.
Leveling
| Level | Damage (% MATK) | Damage vs. Cursed (% MATK) | Health restored | SP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 150 | 300 | 50 % of damage | 20 |
| 2 | 200 | 400 | 50 % of damage | 26 |
| 3 | 250 | 500 | 50 % of damage | 32 |
| 4 | 300 | 600 | 50 % of damage | 38 |
| 5 | 350 | 700 | 50 % of damage | 44 |
Notes
- The healing is based on the damage that actually lands, so reductions on the target lower the amount recovered.
- Striking an Ice Wall or another skill unit gives no healing.
- The skill can be copied with Reproduce, but not with Plagiarism.
- Learning it requires Dark Strike Lv 1.
