Napalm Vulcan is a Ghost-property magic attack that strikes the target repeatedly and may inflict Curse, splitting its damage among nearby enemies.
Overview
An upgraded successor to Napalm Beat, Napalm Vulcan hits the target multiple times in a single cast and carries a chance to Curse anyone it hits. Its Ghost element makes it useful against foes that resist the elemental bolts, and its splash makes it a respectable crowd-damage option. The damage is shared between all enemies caught in the small splash area, so it performs best against a single target or a tight cluster.
Mechanics
Each hit deals a fixed proportion of the caster's magic attack:
Damage per hit = 125% magic attack (Ghost property)
The number of hits equals the skill level, so higher levels stack more hits on the same cast:
Number of hits = SkillLv
Damage is split among every enemy standing in the splash area around the target, so concentrating it on one enemy delivers the full effect.
Every hit can inflict Curse on the target:
Curse chance = 5 × SkillLv (percent per hit)
A successful Curse lasts 30 seconds.
Leveling
| Level | Hits | Curse chance per hit | SP cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 5% | 10 |
| 2 | 2 | 10% | 25 |
| 3 | 3 | 15% | 40 |
| 4 | 4 | 20% | 55 |
| 5 | 5 | 25% | 70 |
Notes
- Damage is divided among all enemies within the splash area, so it is strongest against a single target.
- The skill can also target enemy traps placed on the ground.
- Curse can be applied by each individual hit, so multi-hit casts have several chances to land it.
