'''One beacon at a time:''' A Paladin can hold only a single mark. Casting the skill again releases the previous mark, wherever that ally is, and applies the new one. If the chosen ally already carries another Paladin's beacon, the new mark replaces it and releases that Paladin's link.
* Only one Beacon can be active at a time. Casting it again moves the mark to the new target.

* Healing the Beacon directly does not duplicate; the echo only applies when the direct heal lands on a different ally.
'''Conditions for the echo:''' The beacon must be alive, in the Paladin's party and nearby on the same map when the heal is cast. Healing the beacon directly does not echo, since that ally already received the full heal.

'''Healing penalties:''' The echo is taken from the heal after all of its own penalties have been applied, so it never restores more than the underlying heal would justify and it is not penalised a second time.

'''Mark removal:''' The mark ends when its duration expires, when the marked ally dies, when the Paladin recasts the skill, when either of them changes map, and when the Paladin or the marked ally leaves the party by any means, including being kicked or the party disbanding. Rejoining does not restore it; the Paladin must mark the ally again.

The echoed fraction rises with level, from 10% of each heal at level 1 to 50% at level 5. SP cost climbs alongside it.

* Beacon of Light pairs naturally with a healing-focused Paladin: marking the tank and then healing other party members keeps the tank topped up "for free" as a side effect of normal healing.
* Beacon of Light suits a healing-oriented Paladin: marking the tank and then healing the rest of the party keeps the tank recovering without spending extra casts.
* The echo respects any healing penalties already applied to the original heal, so it never restores more than the underlying heal would.
* The 10 second cooldown means the mark cannot be moved from target to target on a whim, so the choice of beacon is worth a moment's thought.
* Since the echo is a share of the heal, anything that makes the Paladin's Heal stronger also makes the beacon's recovery stronger.

Beacon of Light is a supportive skill of the Paladin class that marks one party member as a beacon. From then on, a share of every Heal the Paladin casts on somebody else echoes onto the marked ally. It lets the Paladin keep a key target topped up while tending to the rest of the group.

Overview

The Paladin designates a single allied party member as their beacon. Each time the Paladin heals a different ally, the beacon quietly receives a fraction of that same heal. The usual choice is the front-line tank: the Paladin heals wherever attention is needed and the tank keeps recovering as a side effect.

Mechanics

The skill marks one allied party member within 9 cells. It cannot be cast on the Paladin themselves, and it only works on party members.

Echoed heal: While the mark holds, every Heal the Paladin casts on another target also restores (25 + 15 × SkillLv)% of that heal to the beacon.

One beacon at a time: A Paladin can hold only a single mark. Casting the skill again releases the previous mark, wherever that ally is, and applies the new one. If the chosen ally already carries another Paladin's beacon, the new mark replaces it and releases that Paladin's link.

Conditions for the echo: The beacon must be alive, in the Paladin's party and nearby on the same map when the heal is cast. Healing the beacon directly does not echo, since that ally already received the full heal.

Healing penalties: The echo is taken from the heal after all of its own penalties have been applied, so it never restores more than the underlying heal would justify and it is not penalised a second time.

Mark removal: The mark ends when its duration expires, when the marked ally dies, when the Paladin recasts the skill, when either of them changes map, and when the Paladin or the marked ally leaves the party by any means, including being kicked or the party disbanding. Rejoining does not restore it; the Paladin must mark the ally again.

Leveling

Level Echoed share of each heal Duration SP cost
1 40% 30 sec 18
2 55% 60 sec 24
3 70% 90 sec 30

Notes

  • Beacon of Light suits a healing-oriented Paladin: marking the tank and then healing the rest of the party keeps the tank recovering without spending extra casts.
  • The 10 second cooldown means the mark cannot be moved from target to target on a whim, so the choice of beacon is worth a moment's thought.
  • Since the echo is a share of the heal, anything that makes the Paladin's Heal stronger also makes the beacon's recovery stronger.
