After casting on the target area, a blizzard covers a wide square and strikes enemies inside it in rapid pulses, pushing them slightly with each gust.

Damage formula (per hit): Damage = (100 + 40 × SkillLv) % of MATK.
The blizzard covers a 9x9 area centred on the targeted cell and stays there for 4.6 seconds, striking every enemy inside roughly every half second.

Each hit deals (100 + 40 × SkillLv) percent of the caster's MATK as Water magic damage and pushes the enemy 2 cells. The push direction is the natural one away from the storm.

Storm Gust keeps a running hit counter on each enemy. On the third accumulated hit the storm attempts to Freeze the target with a very high chance, and the Frozen state lasts 12 seconds. The counter is shared between casts, so hits from two different blizzards still add up. If a hit is fully absorbed the counter resets.

Each enemy accumulates hits from the storm. On the third accumulated hit the storm attempts to inflict Frozen, locking the target in ice. Because the pulses arrive quickly, enemies that linger inside are frozen repeatedly.
An enemy that is already Frozen stops taking hits from the blizzard until it thaws. Boss and Undead enemies cannot be Frozen.

Storm Gust whips up a wide blizzard that repeatedly batters and buffets enemies with Water damage and freezes those caught in it long enough.

Overview

Storm Gust is the Wizard's premier area Water spell and a defining grinding tool, blanketing a large zone in a freezing storm. Its tightly packed hits both deal heavy damage and lock enemies in place with Frozen, making it equally strong for crowd control. The long cast time at higher levels is offset by its area coverage.

Mechanics

An enemy that is already Frozen stops taking hits from the blizzard until it thaws. Boss and Undead enemies cannot be Frozen.

Leveling

Level Damage per hit (% MATK) Cast (sec) SP
1 140 3 78
3 220 5 78
5 300 7 78
7 380 9 78
10 500 12 78

Notes

  • Every third accumulated hit on a target attempts to inflict Frozen for 12 seconds.
  • Frozen enemies stop taking further hits from the storm, which can lower total damage against a single target.
  • Each gust knocks affected enemies back slightly.
