Strip Helm tears the headgear off an enemy. Against players it removes the equipped helm for a time; against monsters it always succeeds and weakens their magic power. It is the first of the Rogue's four Divest skills.

Overview

Strip Helm is a disarming skill aimed at an enemy's head slot. Its effect differs by target type. Against another player it forcibly unequips the helm and prevents re-equipping it for the duration, while against a monster it never misses and instead saps the creature's magic attack. It opens the chain that leads to the other Strip skills.

Mechanics

Against players the skill has a chance to remove the target's helm:

Success vs. players: 5 + 10 × SkillLv + 0.2 × (DEX − TargetDEX) (%)

A higher DEX than the target improves the chance; a lower DEX reduces it. On success the helm is removed and cannot be worn again until the effect ends.

Against monsters the skill always succeeds and lowers the target's magic attack by 25% for the duration.

Leveling

Level Success vs. players (equal DEX) Effect vs. monsters Duration SP
1 15% −25% magic attack 10s 12
2 25% −25% magic attack 20s 16
3 35% −25% magic attack 30s 20

The values shown against players assume equal DEX; the actual chance shifts with the DEX difference.

Notes

Against monsters, Strip Helm is a reliable way to blunt a dangerous magic attacker. It also feeds Gangster's Paradise, which treats a stripped target as impaired and adds bonus damage. It is the prerequisite for Strip Shield.
