The storm hits the targeted 5×5 area. On this pre-renewal server the per-strike skill ratio is reduced by 20 points from the renewal value, giving the classic pre-renewal output.
The storm hits the targeted 5×5 area and strikes each enemy inside it once per skill level. Every strike lands at full magic power, with no per-strike reduction.

Damage formula: Damage = 80 × SkillLv (% of MATK).
Damage formula: each strike deals 100 (% of MATK), for a total of 100 × SkillLv (% of MATK) against an enemy that stays inside the area for the whole storm.

So damage scales from 80% at Lv 1 to 800% at Lv 10 (spread over the storm's strikes against each enemy in the area).
So the full storm scales from 100% at Lv 1 to 1000% at Lv 10, split across the individual strikes.

Thunder Storm summons a storm that rains lightning repeatedly over a 5×5 area, striking all enemies caught within it.

Overview

Thunder Storm is the Mage's Wind-element area attack, excellent against Water- and Flying-element packs. It calls down repeated lightning strikes over the targeted ground, dealing Wind magic damage to every enemy in the zone.

Mechanics

The storm hits the targeted 5×5 area and strikes each enemy inside it once per skill level. Every strike lands at full magic power, with no per-strike reduction.

Damage formula: each strike deals 100 (% of MATK), for a total of 100 × SkillLv (% of MATK) against an enemy that stays inside the area for the whole storm.

So the full storm scales from 100% at Lv 1 to 1000% at Lv 10, split across the individual strikes.

Leveling

Level Strikes Total damage (% MATK) Cast time (sec) SP
1 1 100 0.7 29
3 3 300 2.1 39
5 5 500 3.5 49
7 7 700 4.9 59
10 10 1000 7.0 74

  • The long cast time at high levels makes Thunder Storm best deployed from safety or against stationary/grouped enemies.
