Homunculus
Homunculus are living companions created and commanded by the Alchemist class line. Unlike a pet or a mercenary, a homunculus levels up on its own, learns its own skills, develops its own stats, and fights at your side indefinitely.
Creating a Homunculus
A homunculus is born from an Embryo using the Alchemist skill Bioethics. The type you receive is random — there are four kinds, each with a completely different combat role. Once created, the homunculus is bound to you and can be called to your side or sent to rest at any time.
Caring for your Homunculus
- Hunger & Feeding — every homunculus has a hunger value that falls over time. Feed it its preferred food to keep it fed; a starving homunculus steadily loses intimacy and will eventually abandon its master.
- Intimacy (Loyalty) — feeding at the right moment raises intimacy. As loyalty climbs through its ranks (up to Loyal), it unlocks evolution and the homunculus's ultimate skill.
- Resting & Calling — you can vaporize the homunculus to store it safely and call it back when needed. It also rests automatically when you log out.
Leveling & Skills
A homunculus earns its own experience as it fights. Each level grants stat growth — randomised within a range, so no two homunculi of the same type are identical — and every 3 levels it gains a skill point to spend in its skill tree. Each type has its own unique tree.
Evolution
At very high loyalty a homunculus can evolve into a stronger form, gaining a one-time boost to its stats and a larger body size. Evolution (together with high loyalty) is also required to unlock each type's ultimate skill — the level 3 skill at the bottom of every tree.
