Land Mine is an Earth-element damage trap of the Hunter class.
Overview
Land Mine is the Hunter's basic damage trap. It explodes when an enemy steps onto it, dealing Earth damage in a small splash. Because it ignores the target's Flee and defensive cards, it is reliable against evasive enemies.
Mechanics
The mine arms on the ground for up to 60 seconds. When an enemy enters its cell it detonates, striking that cell plus a small splash for Earth-property damage, then disappears. The explosion ignores Flee (it cannot miss) and ignores the target's defensive cards.
Damage formula: Land Mine damage = SkillLv × (DEX + 75 + JobLevel) × (1 + INT ÷ 80). Damage therefore scales with the Hunter's DEX, INT and Job Level, and roughly multiplies with skill level. The INT bonus from Trap Research indirectly raises this damage.
Leveling
Higher levels multiply the explosion damage and raise SP cost; trap duration is fixed at 60 seconds.
| Level | Damage multiplier | SP |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1× base | 14 |
| 2 | 2× base | 18 |
| 3 | 3× base | 22 |
| 4 | 4× base | 26 |
| 5 | 5× base | 30 |
(Base = (DEX + 75 + JobLevel) × (1 + INT ÷ 80).)
Requirements
Consumes 1 Trap per cast.
Notes
Land Mine is the foundation of the Hunter's trapping damage and a prerequisite for Remove Trap. Like other damage traps it ignores Flee, making it strong against high-evasion targets. It can be set off prematurely with Spring Trap.
