Performance Discipline is a passive skill shared by the Bard and Dancer that hardens the performer's stamina and stage presence, deepening their available SP pool and easing the sluggishness that comes with keeping a song or dance going.

Overview

Bards and Dancers spend most of a fight sustaining performances, which normally slows their movement to a crawl. Performance Discipline addresses both sides of that cost at once: it grants a flat increase to maximum SP and steadily removes the movement penalty imposed while performing. It is the root of the performance branch and takes effect the moment it is learned, with no activation required.

Mechanics

The skill applies two permanent bonuses that scale with its level:

  • Increases maximum SP by 30 per skill level.
  • Reduces the movement-speed penalty suffered while playing a song or dance by 10% per skill level. At level 5 the penalty is removed entirely, letting the performer move at normal speed while a performance is active.

Both effects are always on and require no SP or catalyst.

Leveling

Level Max SP bonus Move-speed penalty reduction
1 +30 10%
2 +60 20%
3 +90 30%
4 +120 40%
5 +150 100% (penalty removed)

Requirements

Passive. No SP cost, catalyst, or weapon requirement.

Notes

  • Because the move-speed penalty is fully removed at level 5, a maxed Performance Discipline lets a Bard or Dancer reposition freely while keeping a performance running, which greatly improves their mobility in group content.
  • The extra maximum SP benefits every skill the class uses, not only performances.
