Stone Curse attempts to petrify the target, leaving it stoned and immobilized while it slowly loses health.
Overview
Stone Curse is a status-affliction skill rather than a damage skill. A successful cast turns the target to stone: it cannot act, its defenses are warped, its armor element becomes Earth, and it bleeds health every second. It pairs naturally with the Mage's bolt attacks, since the petrified element shift opens the target up to elemental follow-ups.
Mechanics
On a successful cast the target enters the Stone state. While stoned:
- Physical DEF is halved (−50%).
- Magic DEF is increased by 25%.
- The target's armor element is forced to Earth.
- It loses 2% of its Max HP every second, capped at 500 per tick, and the drain stops once it drops to 25% HP.
Success formula: Success = 36 + 6 × SkillLv (% before the target's MDEF reduction).
The target's MDEF lowers both the success chance and how long petrification lasts. On this pre-renewal server Stone Curse does not consume any gemstone.
Leveling
| Level | Success chance | SP |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 42% | 20 |
| 2 | 48% | 20 |
| 3 | 54% | 20 |
| 4 | 60% | 20 |
| 5 | 66% | 20 |
Notes
- Does not affect Boss or Undead enemies.
- The Magic DEF increase means the petrified target takes slightly less magic damage, so Stone Curse is most valuable for the immobilization, HP drain and Earth element shift rather than as a magic-damage setup.
