Cast Cancel lets the Sage instantly abort their own spell mid-cast, escaping a committed cast at a modest SP cost.
Overview
This active skill interrupts whatever spell the Sage is currently casting. It is useful for reacting to a sudden change in the situation (a target dying, an ally needing a different spell, or the need to flee) without waiting for the in-progress cast to finish.
Mechanics
Activating Cast Cancel stops the Sage's current cast immediately. Half of the SP that the cancelled spell would have cost is consumed as a penalty.
SP penalty formula: 50% of the cancelled spell's SP cost.
This is in addition to the skill's own 2 SP cost.
Notes
Cast Cancel only affects the Sage's own casting; it cannot interrupt other characters.
