Trap Research (RA_RESEARCHTRAP) is a passive mastery of the Hunter class that improves the Hunter's traps and grants bonus INT.
Overview
Trap Research deepens the Hunter's trapping expertise. It permanently raises INT and lets traps be thrown farther. It is always active once learned, with no SP cost.
Mechanics
Trap Research provides two benefits that grow with its level:
- Bonus INT — increases the Hunter's INT by +1 × SkillLv, up to +10 at level 10. Because the Hunter's damage traps scale with INT, this indirectly raises the power of Land Mine, Blast Mine, Claymore Trap and Freezing Trap.
- Extended throw range — adds to the placement range of the Hunter's mines and area traps: +1 cell, rising to +2 cells from level 6 onward.
Leveling
| Level | Bonus INT | Trap range bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | +1 | +1 |
| 5 | +5 | +1 |
| 6 | +6 | +2 |
| 10 | +10 | +2 |
Notes
Trap Research is a core mastery for a trap-focused Hunter, buffing trap damage through INT and extending placement range. It is a prerequisite for Blast Mine and Claymore Trap. This server lists the skill in-client as "Trap Research"; it is the same skill known elsewhere as Research Trap. Note that on this server the renewal flat +trap-damage bonus is not applied in pre-renewal — only the INT and range bonuses are active.
