Shockwave Trap (HT_SHOCKWAVE) is a utility trap of the Hunter class that drains the SP of enemies caught in its blast.

Overview

Shockwave Trap deals no HP damage. Instead it removes a large portion of the victim's SP, making it a strong disruption tool against casters and SP-reliant classes.

Mechanics

The trap arms on the ground and triggers when an enemy enters its cell, draining SP from everything in a 5x5 splash before breaking. The amount of SP removed grows with the drain duration, which lengthens with skill level (from 3.5 seconds at level 1 up to 7.5 seconds at level 5). The trap itself stays armed longer at lower levels.

Because it targets SP rather than HP, it does nothing to a target with no SP pool, but it can completely empty a fragile caster. Each cast consumes two Traps.

Leveling

Higher levels increase the drain duration and shorten the armed lifetime. SP cost is a flat 45.

Level Drain duration Trap lifetime SP
1 3.5s 200s 45
2 4.5s 160s 45
3 5.5s 120s 45
4 6.5s 80s 45
5 7.5s 40s 45

Requirements

Consumes 2 Traps per cast.

Notes

Shockwave Trap is primarily a PvP and WoE tool used to starve enemy casters of SP. It requires Freezing Trap level 1 to learn.
