Throw Spirit Sphere

Overview

Throw Spirit Sphere is the Monk's main ranged attack. The caster hurls spirit spheres at a distant target for weapon-element damage, with the number of hits capped by how many spheres are currently held. It also ends any Blade Stop lock.

Mechanics

Damage formula (pre-renewal):

Per-hit damage = (100 + 100 × SkillLv)% ATK
Number of hits = current sphere count, up to SkillLv maximum
Level Damage per Hit Max Hits
1 200% ATK 1
2 300% ATK 2
3 400% ATK 3
4 500% ATK 4
5 600% ATK 5
6 700% ATK 6
7 800% ATK 7
8 900% ATK 8
9 1000% ATK 9
10 1100% ATK 10

The SP cost increases by 1 for every two skill levels: 10, 10, 11, 11, 12, 12, 13, 13, 14, 14 at levels 1–10.

Depending on server configuration, the spheres may all strike at once as a single combined hit, or fire one after another at 200 ms intervals after the first.

After the attack, any Blade Stop state on the caster ends.

Notes

  • Because hits are capped by current sphere count, maintaining 5 spheres maximizes the skill's hit output.
  • The 3.5-second cast time is the longest of any Monk skill — protect cast time against interruption.
  • The cast cannot be interrupted once started.
  • Can be used to break out of a Blade Stop at sufficiently high Blade Stop levels.
  • Against plant-mode monsters with exactly 100 DEF, the multi-hit collapses into a single event.
