The caster places the field on the ground and is then free to move, cast, and act — there is no self-lock holding you in place. The field is laid down on the ground at the chosen spot and pulls on a small area around it. Enemies caught inside take repeated magic hits for as long as the field persists.
Once placed, the field covers a small area around the target cell (roughly a 5x5 zone) and strikes every enemy standing in it about once every half second for its 3.95-second lifetime.

Damage formula: each hit deals (100 × SkillLv)% MATK — that is 100% at level 1, 200%, 300%, 400%, and 500% MATK at level 5.
Damage formula (per hit): (25 + 50 × SkillLv)% MATK, resolving from 75% at level 1 up to 275% MATK at level 5.

Hit cadence: the field damages every target inside it roughly every 0.55 seconds. The field's lifetime grows with level, so higher levels both hit harder per pulse and last longer, producing more total pulses.
The hits are Neutral-element magic. Any enemy standing in the field also has its movement speed and attack speed slowed for as long as it remains inside, with the slow growing stronger at higher skill levels. Cast time scales with skill level; the field's own duration and the skill's cooldown do not.

The damage is Neutral-element magic and ignores flinch (targets are not staggered by it). The Emperium takes a fixed amount when struck.

Gravitational Field warps gravity over a targeted area, crushing every enemy caught inside it with repeated bursts of Neutral magic.

Overview

On VortexRo, Gravitational Field is reworked into a ground field the caster drops and then walks away from; there is no self-lock holding you in place while it ticks. Every enemy standing inside the field is struck again and again by gravity magic for the field's short lifetime, and anyone caught inside also finds themselves moving and swinging more slowly for as long as they linger there. It rewards zoning enemies into the field and then continuing to cast or reposition, rather than standing still to babysit it.

Mechanics

Once placed, the field covers a small area around the target cell (roughly a 5x5 zone) and strikes every enemy standing in it about once every half second for its 3.95-second lifetime.

Damage formula (per hit): (25 + 50 × SkillLv)% MATK, resolving from 75% at level 1 up to 275% MATK at level 5.

The hits are Neutral-element magic. Any enemy standing in the field also has its movement speed and attack speed slowed for as long as it remains inside, with the slow growing stronger at higher skill levels. Cast time scales with skill level; the field's own duration and the skill's cooldown do not.

Leveling

Level SP cost Cast time Damage per hit (MATK)
1 30 3.0 sec 75%
2 40 3.5 sec 125%
3 50 4.0 sec 175%
4 60 4.5 sec 225%
5 70 5.0 sec 275%

Notes

  • The caster is not locked in place while the field is active; you may move and cast freely after placing it.
  • The field's 3.95-second duration and 5-second cooldown are fixed and do not change with skill level; only SP cost, cast time, and per-hit damage scale.
