Venom Coat is an active self-buff skill of the Assassin class that coats the weapon in a specialized venom, adding a chance to inflict a debilitating status on hit.

Overview

When cast, Venom Coat applies a venom to the user's weapon for 3 minutes. The venom is chosen by the level cast, and only one venom can be active at a time. Recasting the skill swaps the active venom for another. The coating does not change the weapon's element. Each cast consumes one Venom Canine.

Mechanics

While coated, the user's weapon attacks, including both normal attacks and physical weapon skills, gain a 7% chance to inflict a status ailment on the target. This chance rises to 15% while Enchant Poison is active.

The status inflicted depends on the level cast:

  • Level 1 — Blood Venom: chance to inflict Bleeding.
  • Level 2 — Necrotic Venom: chance to inflict Critical Wounds, which reduces the healing the target receives.
  • Level 3 — Withering Venom: chance to inflict Wither, which lowers the target's MATK by 25% and burns 1% of its Max SP each second.

Leveling

Level Venom Inflicted status SP
1 Blood Venom Bleeding 20
2 Necrotic Venom Critical Wounds 25
3 Withering Venom Wither 30

Notes

Venom Coat pairs strongly with Enchant Poison, which more than doubles the proc chance from 7% to 15%. Because only one venom can be active at a time, choose the level that best fits the situation: Blood Venom for sustained bleed pressure, Necrotic Venom to cut an enemy's healing, or Withering Venom to weaken casters and drain their SP.
