Marionette Control links the performer (Clown or Gypsy) to a single party member, sacrificing their own stats to empower an ally. On this server the skill has been reworked into a clean, flat stat transfer rather than the classic half-stat copy.

Overview

The performer targets one party member (the skill cannot be self-cast) and forms a link between the two. While the link holds, the performer gives up a fixed amount of every base stat and the linked ally gains the same amount. It effectively acts as a puppet master, weakening itself to strengthen a chosen carry.

Mechanics

While the link is active:

Performer loses 2 × SkillLv from each of STR, AGI, VIT, INT, DEX and LUK
Linked ally gains 2 × SkillLv to each of those same stats

At level 5 this is a swing of 10 points in every base stat: the performer drops 10 from each stat and the ally receives 10 to each. The bonus given to the ally is capped so it never pushes a stat above the normal maximum.

Unlike the older version of the skill, the performer can freely use its other skills while Marionette Control is active.

Leveling

Each level increases the transferred amount by 2 points per stat. The SP cost is a flat 100 regardless of level, so higher levels are strictly more efficient.

Restrictions

Marionette Control cannot be cast on another performer (any Bard, Dancer, Clown or Gypsy), and it cannot be placed on a target suffering from Curse or Quagmire. The link is held while the performer and the ally stay within 11 cells of each other; moving out of range, or recasting the skill on the same ally, ends it. A 10 second cooldown begins the moment the link is broken.

Notes and synergy

Because the transfer is a flat block of stats rather than a copy, Marionette Control pairs best with an ally who benefits sharply from raw stat points. The performer pays for the buff with its own survivability and accuracy, so it is usually maintained from a protected position.
