Memorize lets the Professor pre-arrange a series of spells so the next several casts come out in half the time.

Overview

Memorize is a self-buff that primes the caster's next few spells. After spending five seconds memorizing, the Professor's following casts are rushed out at greatly reduced casting time. It is the Professor's signature setup skill for chaining a burst of fast spells, such as repeated bolts or area magic, with almost no wind-up.

Mechanics

Casting Memorize takes a fixed 5-second cast time that cannot be shortened by DEX or by other cast-reducing effects. Once active, it stores a count of memorized casts and persists with no time limit until those casts are spent.

Magnitude: the variable cast time of each affected spell is reduced by 50% (halved). The buff covers the next 5 casts.

Only skills the Professor has actually learned benefit from the reduction; spells granted by items are not affected. The memorized-cast counter is consumed on each qualifying cast and the buff ends once all five charges are used.

Catalysts and requirements

Requires 1 SP to activate.

Notes

Memorize halves only the variable portion of cast time; it does not remove fixed cast delays. It does not stack additively with other cast reducers — it simply halves whatever variable cast time remains. Plan the five charges carefully, since the counter ticks down even on spells that happen to have no variable cast time.
