Dispell strips nearly every active status effect — buffs and debuffs alike — from a single target.

Overview

Dispell removes the great majority of status changes from the target in one stroke. Used offensively it tears away an enemy's buffs; used on a party member it can clear away harmful states. A few special statuses are protected and cannot be removed.

Mechanics

On a successful cast, almost all of the target's active status effects end at once. Success is not guaranteed and improves with level.

Success chance formula: (50 + 10 × SkillLv)% — 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100% at Levels 1–5.

Targets that are status-immune cannot be dispelled. Certain effects are exempt — for example bard/dancer songs while the target is still inside the song's area, Assumptio on most monsters, and a handful of protected states. When used on a monster, Dispell also makes it release its current target.

Outside of player-versus-player situations the skill only takes effect on party members.
