Frostbite sharpens the Wizard's chill so that every single-target Water spell they cast has a chance to leave the victim Freezing.

== Overview ==
Frostbite is the entry passive of the Frost (Water) branch. It folds soft crowd control into the Wizard's ordinary Water bolts at no extra SP cost, weaving a chilling effect into normal damage. It anchors the branch that continues through [[Frost Nova]] and the High Wizard skill [[Ice Block]].

== Mechanics ==
Whenever the caster lands a single-target (non-ground) Water-element spell, that hit has a chance to inflict Freezing on the target.

Chance formula: Freeze chance = 5 + 3 × SkillLv (%), from 8% at Level 1 up to 35% at Level 10.

Duration formula: Freezing lasts 3 + 0.3 × SkillLv seconds, from about 3.3 s up to 6 s.

Only single-target Water magic benefits. Area Water spells such as Storm Gust are excluded, so the effect cannot be chain-applied by a multi-hit field. The status it applies is Freezing, a chilling slow, rather than the harder Frozen state.
