'''Cloaking''' is a self-buff skill of the [[Assassin]] class that renders the user invisible while still allowing movement, unlike ordinary hiding.

== Overview ==
Cloaking is the signature stealth tool of the Assassin. It lets the user slip past or around enemies unseen while remaining able to walk, making it far more flexible than Hiding. Higher levels loosen the reliance on walls and reduce the drawbacks of staying cloaked.

== Mechanics ==
While Cloaking is active the user cannot be seen by most enemies and can continue to move. The skill has several costs and limits:

* Natural HP and SP recovery are suspended for as long as Cloaking is maintained.
* 1 SP is drained periodically while cloaked. The interval between drains is 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 seconds at levels 1 through 5, so higher levels bleed SP more slowly.
* At Level 1 the user can only move while adjacent to a wall. From Level 2 onward the user can also move in the open, away from any wall.
* Movement speed depends on proximity to a wall. Next to a wall the user moves at 106, 112, 118, 124 or 130% of normal speed by level. Away from a wall the user moves at 0, 82, 88, 94 or 100% by level.

Insect, Demon and Boss monsters can see through Cloaking and will still detect and attack the user.
