Unlike a [[Homunculus]], a Beast Companion isn't grown or leveled — it's captured directly from the wild, fully formed. The beast you tame looks, moves and hits exactly like the monster you caught, and on top of that it takes on a combat style (its '''Archetype''') that shapes how it fights alongside you.

Taming, summoning and commanding a beast is handled by the Hunter's Beast Master skill branch, starting with [[Beast Taming]].
